Jamie (John, Joseph, James) Patterson started his journey with our club approximately 15 years ago.
Delivering a range of drama and arts based workshops as a volunteer, his skills were quickly recognised and he began receiving paid work as a free lance work shop deliverer.
Not only was Jamie a fantastic deliverer, he was also highly skilled at organising and developing projects, and so gained full time employment with the club.
During his time as Artistic director Jamie organised and delivered a range of theatre and arts based projects, engaging and developing countless young people within Salford. He also supported the clubs various other programmes through his desire and commitment to positively influence young people. Jamie led the clubs arts company ‘So Many Words’ and turned it into a benchmark for disability arts within the region. Our recent production of ‘Twisted Tales’ showcased at the Lowry theatre, perfectly captured Jamie’s expertise within the Arts.
After the clubs restructure and immergence of ‘YOU CAN Community Club’ Jamie developed into a superb Programme Coordinator. Using his skills in administration, finance management, marketing, fundraising, project development and delivery, Jamie was instrumental in ensuring the charity survived a genuine threat to its sustainability. Taking the club from the verge of collapse to one which recently won the Queens Award for Voluntary service, Jamie embarks on the next chapter in his career a winner in every way.
